New Wave Woodworking employs two 3D Laser Scanners for the purpose of reproducing furniture parts and patterns. These scanners give us the ability to make a CGI 3D model of nearly any given object. We can then use that scan to produce replicas of that object.
In addition, New Wave has a complete CAD/CAM Division with the ability to produce G-code for a large number of CNC Machines as well as the ability to produce vector art of existing 2D patterns for other companies. This ability allows a company that owns a CNC machine to have their existing patterns converted to digital format such as DWG or DZF so they can manufacture parts on their own machines.
New Wave can perform several different aspects of laser scanning and point cloud manipulation and we are currently geared toward the woodworking industry, however we are not limited to this industry when it comes to laser scanning, 3D models and CNC machine programming.
The scanning of 3D objects for the purpose of file generation and computer graphics is available from our company as well. We are happy to hear from customers that may want to have something scanned for purposes other then the ones mentioned here. Perhaps you would like to mill your own files on your own CNC machine. No problem. We can generate an accurate 3D model of an object that you provide in as little as 7 days. Of course, in some cases, we may have to come to you as it may not be feasible to remove an architectural element from a 200 year old building, or to ship a 12 foot high statue from California to Pennsylvania.
